I certainly prefer linux to windows, but i have a dual boot due to the fact that some apps don't work on linux, i'm testing windows 11, and i don't have access to a usb stick at. It should be 4gb ram in use on idle but 5gb is ok too. That is normal if you have windows 11 and several 3rd party av, trial versions and browsers running on the background.
Just like the title goes, my laptop gets about 50~60 ram usage while idle, even though it has 16 gigs of ram. On my main computer with 16 gigs of ram, which has edge set as fast startup with many. What you're experiencing is actually pretty normal for windows 11.
Tried checking with the task manager doesn't seem to spot. Why does a clean windows install still use 5gb of ram usage at idle? Conclusion understanding how much ram windows 11 uses when idle can help users make informed decisions concerning system performance, upgrades, and overall usage. So it is normal, and the more ram you have more will be used.
