Jetblue mint disrupted the premium travel market when it was introduced on the typical transcon routes jfk/lax and jfk/sfo, and other carriers began matching jetblue's initial discount fares.

That being said 5 fas is not a requirement for the staffing and the plane is certified to be sent out with the minimum crew of 3, even london can be sent with 3 fas if needed.
