I’m transgender and plan to change my name in the future. Usually it’s a nickname for katherine/kaitlin/kathleen (i’m a [name_f]katherine [/name_f] myself!) i wouldn’t consider it dated by any means, but i’m. She loves the name [name_f]kate[/name_f], but wonders if she should put [name_f]katherine[/name_f] on the birth certificate, as she also loves.
I would like her sister to have an equally formal name and an equally cute nickname. A cute one i’ve heard is “[name]anna[/name] [name]leigh[/name].” but i can’t use that obviously. Would [name]catherine[/name] nn [name]erin[/name] work?
My sister [name]kate [/name] was called (and still called by some) by her first and middle name a lot by family members. Kit is my favorite nickname for catherine but catherine is definitely my favorite spelling. I have always loved the name [name]caitlyn [/name], for obvious reasons though i cannot give my child that name. I’ve seen a few names around, kieran (which i like and may use, but i don’t like the pronunciation much), kit,.
A person that can legally change their name wants to be known as [name_f]kate[/name_f]. I love the nickname [name]katie [/name]/ [name]catie [/name], aside from [name]catherine [/name]…what others nam… (also, putting in a vote for [name_f]stephanie [/name_f], since that’s my name ) Does it make sense to use the nickname kit for catherine or does it only make sense to spell it katherine?
I was born in the 00s and i grew up with a handful of other katie’s. I also work with young children and i’ve met a few toddler katie’s. As a [name_f]katie [/name_f], i feel i absolutely need to weigh in on this! I like double first names for girls, well some, that is.
I used to prefer [name_f]katie [/name_f], but i’ve been crushing on [name_f]katy [/name_f] lately. Have our boys name but definitely no girls names set yet. Hard to find an original combo that is not too old fashioned or stereotypical. As part of this, i want to change my middle name, katherine, to something that reads more masculine.
It can be hit or miss in this category. If you use the name [name]kate [/name] (prefer [name]kate [/name] to [name]katherine [/name], [name]katie [/name], [name]katelin [/name], etc) i think that you should use a 2 syllable mn or perhaps a 3 syllable. We will call her [name]katie [/name]. I’m attached to the name, as it is a family name, and want to continue to honor it.
What are some nicknames for [name]catherine[/name]?
